We had a wonderful 3 week stay here in March 2025. It's a beautiful spacious condo with a very Mexican feel and amazing view. Very safe and walkable neighbourhood with plenty of great cafes, restaurants and beach bars. The other building occupants were very friendly as were the staff. Very hardworking and cheerful property management and workers. Half Moon Bay is an amazing place to swim and snorkel. I will definitely be back.

Half Moon Bay is a beautiful location and Playa Blanca is a great condo. Waking up to a sunrise over the bay was a wonderful way to start the day. We enjoyed snorkeling, walks on the beach, and using bikes to explore Akumal Pueblo. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance and we had some amazing meals. Plus, it was easy to catch a collectivo if we wanted to explore other towns.

We enjoyed our stay in playablanca #7. The condo had all the items a renter could need. A beautiful view from the top floor deck, the sound of the waves was so relaxing. The place is walk able to a few restaurants with in 5-10 min and the center of town in 15-20 depending on your speed. We did not need a vehicle. The concierge set us up with great transportation to and from the airport.
We had a little trouble with the hot water on our first day but the facilities personnel were able to fix it right away. Condo #7 is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Lots of space to hang out inside or on the deck as well as the beach palaas.
Our only negative was that the neighbors were smokers and when we were both outside it was not pleasant for us due to the cigarette and cigar smoke. I would recommend this vacation rental for sure!

The unit was clean. It was roomy. The location was excellent. Half moon bay is so much less congested than the beach in the main part of Akumal. It was good swimming right in front of our condo.

The condo was perfect...lots of room for 5 women, especially with 3 bathrooms. The shower in 4oom three didn't have much pressure, so washing your hair was a challenge. The beach would gave been incredible, but mother nature had sargassum laid put thickly on our doorstep. Just a few minutes walk away in either was clear. You definitely need water shoes though. Great little store for the basics a 2 min walk away. Very comfortable beds, good selection of utensils & dishes & an appreciated supply if potable water. Patio chairs are uncomfortable.

We have stayed in Akumal years before. We were happy to see it had retained it’s charm. Tulum is another matter. The condo was fantastic. The views, the access, the daily cleaning service, the property management were all wonderful. We had some issues with the refrigerator, they were prompt at sending repairmen to resolve. Being three doors down from the fun La Buena Vida restaurant was a bonus, especially since the seaweed was pretty awful and we could have lunch and utilize their pool. This is a great place to stay to snorkel with turtles, in the lagoon, quick drive to caves, cenotes, zip lining, monkeys, Mayan ruins. I hope Akumal resists the resort push from the rest of the riviera maya, this place is a true gem!

Stunningly beautiful, very comfortable, well equipped, well located accommodation. Two nearby restaurants, one with very creative dishes, yet reasonable prices, one more traditional yet delicious, both excellent service. More eateries a 15 minute walk to the main beach area.

Ideally situated right on Half Moon bay! This 3BR, 2BA unit is immaculate with your own private beach!

I was there with my family and our neighbors family (4 adults and 4 babies)in Feb 2010. A great example of their professionalism, was that they promised to have (2) cribs and (2) highchairs available for the kids and sure enough they did! From start to finish, Akumal Direct was professional and everything was 100%taken care of!

I cannot speak high enough of their new property manager, Balta. He took care of all of our needs and was very friendly and super-helpful during our stay.

Grab this unit if you can! I know I'll be back next year!

Property was clean but need to get rid of ants in kitchen area. We didn't leave food out but still were present. Staff was very courteous and helpful!Love to rent another place with better snorkeling in Akumal area not far from town.

The reason why I rated the property manager so unhelpful is because, for first few days I coulding find the office that serviced the unit I rented. Some other manager from a differnet office said you just go in and it will be unlocked.
I just happened to find the manager when visiting friends a few buildings down and saw my name on a paper taped to the front window of the office. Everyhting else was great.

We had a wonderful vacation. The condo was large, clean, and in a perfect location. The maids are excellent. We are looking forward to returning. The only problem has been with the car rental agency (Easy Way). The car had an expired date on the back window & we were pulled over by the police. It took Easy Way 3 days to fix the problem. Two full days that we did not have a car. They are not affiliated with Akumal Direct but were recommended. We are still waiting to hear from them to see if they will credit us in any way. But beside the car issue, everything was great. We now know why so many people return to Akumal year after year.

They have always been a little on the adventurous side so when they told us stories about their stay we were always transfixed. So when they decided to renew their twenty fifth year wedding vows on a beach somewhere then Akumal was the place for them. It didn't take to much arm twisting. So with their encouragement and our need for a vacation, my wife and I packed up and headed to Akumal. Since we arrived in late from the airport and didn't get into the condo until dark, it wasn't until the morning that they dream became a reality. Our third floor condo had one of the most beautiful ocean views I have ever seen. With the sliding door open you could hear the waves and feel the wonderful ocean breezes. The unit was beautifully decorated and had all the amenities you could want (kitchen, TV, Stereo, colorful furnishings). I thought it was pretty funny when my wife initially complained about the noise of the waves but then realized this is why people pay so much to live on the beach. What I liked about Akumal the most was that whatever you wanted to do you could do it. Whether it was swimming, fishing, hiking, visiting the cenotes or just relaxing, it was all available. Our friends all got together, and with a local band we walked down the beach to where they had their ceremony. It was great.I definitely think we will be back. I would love stay in the same condo. This time I think we would do a little more relaxing.

A great escape from the crowds in Cancun and such a pleasant experience to step out from your room and walk into the waters of Half Moon Bay and snorkel with turtles and such a variety of fish.

Feb. 2008. We stayed in Playa Blanca #7 for 3 weeks. We had also stayed in #7 in Feb. 2006 for 3 weeks. This unit has a great balcony, lots of room for the table, chairs and hammock. Being on the 3rd floor it has a wonderful view of the beaches and out to the water. The unit has an open kitchen, living room, dining room layout so it was great for having the whole family for dinner. This year we had 3 couples and 2 small children and it worked fine. The railing on the balcony is not child proof (2 rails only - see picture). The maids were excellant. They were there 7 days a week and everything was spotless.The location is an easy walk to the Lagoon (10 min) and about a 20 min walk to the store, shops and market. There are several good resturants within a 5-10 min. walk.They are making some inprovements to the roof top area and it was a great place to watch the lunar eclispe.The kitchen has most things for cooking simple meals. There is no oven, however there is a microwave. Management was fine although we missed Hector. Danny is working on his English and I'm sure it will improve with time. One person in our group spoke fluent Spanish which was helpful when we had some specific questions. This unit is well priced and a bargin for 3 couples or a larger family.We made our arrangements through Akumal Direct and they did a great job. We were coordinating 4 families (grandparents, parents and grandkids) for this vacation and they made it work well at reasonable cost.
