This is a wonderful condo, clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of the bay. Great access to the beach and snorkeling right in front of the place. Good food easy to walk to. Everyone is so very friendly. Maid service was great and worked around our schedule. Love this place and will rebook.

This was our first time at Playa Caribe but have been to Akumal over 10 times. We decided to try PC for the pool, which isn't very common on Half Moon Bay. We love the management of Playa Caribe, Augustine is responsive and efficient. Patricia is wonderful with the housekeeping. We would not stay in #5 again as it was not well supplied and the fancy mirrors worked part of the time. Basic supplies such as a can opener were missing. We will chose other condos in that complex.

This a wonderful unit--clean, breezy, and set up nicely for two couples or a family. Really, the condo (and the sunny weather) were the highlights of our trip. For some reason the hot water was not working in the showers and was not fixed however.

The staff at Playa Caribe exceptional! We did find that it was quite noisy with doors slamming And being able to hear noise both inside and out. The unit itself was very modern with a gorgeous view. The water pressure was great! The location is nice as it’s not too far from the restaurants. The beach is small and of course because of the location there was a lot of sargassum

1) All but one closet in one bedroom was locked and the unlocked closet had supplies in it leaving limited storage for clothing and luggage.
2) It was unclear whether the water was drinkable. The unit had bottled water but usually there is a pitcher and cups in the bathroom to remind people to use this for brushing teeth. This was missing.
3) It was unclear if we were to flush toilet paper. We put it in the trash can but it would sure be easier if the trash can lids didn't require lifting.
4) Would be great to have cushions for lounge chairs!

This unit, building and location exceeded all of our expectations. I want to address the seaweed concerns as we came in mid-May and were well warned about the potential for seagrass to impede our use of the beach. We almost went somewhere else!
There was enough seaweed right at our beach at this unit that it wouldn't have been pleasant to swim from there or use the chairs. But this did not negatively effect our vacation at all. We walked 5 properties up for lunch at La Lunita and swam there and it was seaweed free and clear. You can swim from anywhere, the shoreline is public. We also walked to the lagoon and it was great swimming and snorkeling and seaweed free. We could also walk to Akumal Bay and zero seaweed there and great beach access. The on-site pool is also a great alternative. Don't let it ruin your vacation! This unit on the second floor offers beautiful turquoise water views and you don't even see the seaweed. We looked at booking the "seaweed free" complex but you can't use the beach there 's rock. The tile in the unit was so cute and charming, the sunken tubs are special. Kitchen well appointed. Plenty of extras to borrow or rent on site. Akumal was safe, beautiful and friendly. I will never stay at one of those all inclusives again!

The staff was very helpful, and even came late in the evening when the wind blew a bedroom door shut and locked us out. The extra snorkel fins they had by the pool came in handy too. It is a very handy location as well. We loved walking to the village for dinner on occasion, especially recommend the Turtle Cafe and Bakery. Don’t miss walking to the nearby Cenote for snorkeling too. I hope we can return to this lovely condo.

Altogether, this means that one of the two bedrooms is not fully isolated from the primary room, there is limited privacy and sound insulation between both rooms and their respective bathrooms, and there would be major safety challenges for a family with young children who inevitably would be drawn to climb through the interior windows.

Wow, how lucky did I get to end up here during my first time in Akumal?! Playa Caribe is a wonderful place with wonderful people. Everything about our stay was perfect, and the condo was even better than we thought it would be! Book it now, you won't regret it!

We stayed 8 days in this condo and we couldn't dream of a better place. Sunrise from the balcony is breathtaking, the view is absolutely stunning. You can see the water not only from balcony but from the living room and bedrooms. The rooms were clean and Patricia, the cleaning lady, was amazing. I love that rooms were being clead daily as we cooked inside as well. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything and more than we need. The only issue we have was the slow internet connection as all 3vof us needed fast connection to work and study.
Beach in front of the condo is narrow and sometimes seaweeds are pilled up in the morning, but staff cleans them daily. To enter a water you will need water shoes as it is rocky. Just swim a bit away from the beach and you will find beatiful fish and corals. We were snorkeling every day. Right next to the building there is a small grocery store, very helpfu. 10 minutes walk there is very nice restaurant right on the beach La Buena Vida. We loved it. We also enjoy live music at Taverna restaurant in Akumal(20 minutes walk) where talented saxophonist was playing every Saturday evening at 7pm. The food is delicious, too. Akumal Bay is 20 minutes walk where we bought a ticket to snorkel and spent a day on the beach. We saw turtles, ray, colorful fish, and squid.

Condo seemed smaller then pictures shown, but also just as shown?? We had a few problems; leak under the sink, leak in master bath toilet, also really tiresome, the refrigerator door plastic pieces that held things on the door kept coming off resulting in messy broken items and cassette player that wouldn’t work. The management was a great help with the sink. The furniture was adequate but not really comfortable accept for the beds. Again the location was lovely as was the building, pool and many loungers provided by the beach.

The visit was our 2nd in 3 years. We very much enjoyed this visit. The staff was very accommodating and the area is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Nearby restaurants provided excellent selection and cuisine. We would definitely recommend this location and Akumal Direct Reservations.

Akumal Direct made the reservation process easy. I left a toiletries kit at the condo when I checked out. Akumal Direct connected witt Playa Caribe who found the kit. Akumal Direct then made arrangements to get it back to me 5000 miles away. I call that outstanding service. The contentment we achieved in Akumal was not disrupted by my forgetfulness.
