Our connections to our VRB concierge were always immediate and very, very helpful I honestly think this was the best Vrbo experience we have ever had. I also highly recommend hiring the chefs which our concierge got for us.Fantastic!

Brought along a lot of family and everyone loved the high-end rooms accompanied by a huge area for everyone to eat inside and out. The kitchen was much better than we expected. The onsite staff made the experience very enjoyable. They provided water shoes so that it was ineasy to get into the rocky entry beach. We plan to go back.

My family and I, a total of 12 people including young children, were incredibly happy at this house. It was very spacious and comfortable, and fit us all very well. The out side area was really nice, had lots of amenities for the pool and ocean, and this made it very enjoyable for our family members of all ages. the staff were super friendly and helpful, and kept the house really clean all week for us. We felt very taken care of.

We love this location and it is our second time going. Great for a big family trip, with perfect beach and pool views. Love to use the kayaks and snorkel right in the bay in front of the house. Close to restaurants and shops and just a great place for a family trip with small kids.

Villa Fortuna was the perfect place for our group to start our trip. Having walking access to a couple great restaurants and a quick golf cart ride to a bunch of great food was amazing. We loved sitting in the pool and listening to the ocean and the layout made it easy for people to get rest upstairs, or people to party the night away downstairs at the same time. The fridge is huge and we cooked a beautiful Wahoo fish dinner that we caught the day before. La Buena vida was one of our favorite food spots, and the jungle cafe was the best place for breakfast and coffee/juices. If you are looking for a dreamy vacation don’t look any further! This house is beautiful and comfortable, and the location is just amazing. We were 8 adults and 5 kids under 5 and we had an amazing time. Ruth and Carlos kept the house clean and organized. The beach is sandy, but when you get in the water it is a little rocky which is fine as long as you bring water shoes (the house has some spare ones as well). You can swim just a couple of meters away from the shore, and you’ll find many different reefs with all types of marine life - we were lucky to see turtles, rays and all kinds of fish. We hired chef daveed for most meals and it was great to not worry about cooking and the food they cooked was just so delicious! You also have a couple good restaurants a just a few minutes away by foot. And you are just a few minutes drive from “downtown” akumal.

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Fortuna. Our extended family of 8 (four adults, four kids under 4) stayed for week and loved every minute. The location is perfect -- close to coffee shops and restaurants, close to an amazing cenote, and best of all, perfect pool and beach location for the kids. semaine de rêve avec nos enfants et petits enfants. la maison est très vaste et bien aménagée. Les chambres sont immenses et ont toute un grand balcon coté mer. Propreté sans faille partout dans la maison. Carlos et Ruth sont très attentifs à nos demandes. Quelques appareils étaient non fonctionnels mais ont été rapidement remplacés. La seule déception que nous avons eu est la quantité d'algues sur la plage, c'est très désagréable et ca sent mauvais malgré qu'à tous les jours un homme peinait à tout ramasser sans y parvenir. Par contre, aussitôt cet amas d'algue traversé, nous nous retrouvons dans une eau cristalline, chaude et pleine de découvertes: poissons tortues et coquillages sur une très grande surface. Durant notre séjour, une tortue est venue pondre sur notre plage. Très belle semaine mémorable pour chacun de notre groupe de 13.

For example, I ordered groceries and they were received the day of. I also ordered Chef Luis Martinez food preparation services with his assistant Erendira. That was an expense that was well worth the cost considering that they take care of all clean up and shopping for items. The house staff helped us with getting the kayaks and turning the power on in the early morning so we could get water running. The staff who manage the property were always in communication with me leading up to my stay. That's how I was able to coordinate most of the big ticket items prior to my arrival. There was additional info at the property in case I needed to reach them outside of business hours. And that was great to know since we did need their help with the power shut off. The seaweed was present on the beach front, but it didn't take away from the beauty of what was all around us. I am really happy with the entire experience and feel extremely lucky to have experienced Akumal. A pueblito that has the right amount of adventure, relaxation and shops.

We biked and carted around the area and relied on transportation provided by the rental agency. David was great to work with. The food service was also a nice option... we hired Daveed's chefs twice and enjoyed the meals immensely. We used some of the house equipment -- floating devices, yard toys, life jackets for the cenote, kayak, etc. The beach is rocky, but lovely.

The beach itself is sandy and nice but once you hit the water you’re walking on very rough rocks making it somewhat untenable to snorkel right off the beach. The snorkeling gear at the house is rather old and dated. A M A Z I N G. Villa Fortuna was great for our 12 guests. Two delicious restaurants close by and the chef service is definitely worth it! We rented a golf cart for a few days and used that to go into town, the ladies went to the spa - it was fabulous! We spent a day in Tulum (20 - 30 minute drive) which was awesome, as well as a yacht charter also outside of Tulum. This location is perfect for privacy and quiet enjoyment of the beach, while being close enough to go into Tulum and other surrounding areas as you wish. The house staff were kind and very helpful. The house was great - comfortable beds, great A/C, plenty of space! Came stocked with more than we expected in terms of kitchen ware. The grocery delivery service also rocks! Made our lives so much easier. Would recommend this house to any groups in the 10 - 14 person range! Lagoons and cenotes are also close by, or you can adventure out and explore cenotes further away - all super easy! We had no concerns with safety and everyone in our group had the best time.

We rented a golf cart for a few days and used that to go into town, the ladies went to the spa - it was fabulous! Where do I begin? My family and I had the most amazing time at this villa. Everything from the house managers to our private chefs were first class. The pictures don't do it justice. We will be back!!

Our vacation was amazing at Casa Fortuna. The pool is the perfect size and right overlooking the ocean. The house was immaculate. I highly recommend the chef service. We had lunches and dinners cooked and it turned from a beach vacation into a culinary vacation. The house is spacious and modern with tasteful decor. The rooftop deck was perfect for star gazing at night. Large family sing tables both inside and out. The family that caretakers the house do an amazing job. If you need anything they go above and beyond to make sure you’re taken care of and comfortable. Another great thing is that between the solar panels and generator, when electricity was down for the community for a couple days we didn’t even notice. Also, water in the community was turned off for a day or so and again because this house converts seawater into fresh water, we didn’t even notice. There were a few detractors. First, the seaweed problem is bad right now. It made the beaches pretty much unusable and although they spray for the smell it still leaves an unpleasant aroma. This appears to be a problem this year throughout the Caribbean (Florida, Cuba, Jamaica, Cancun etc). However snorkeling in the bay is still gorgeous. Also, make sure to wear shoes in the house, the tiles can be VERY slippery. Finally, the stove can be a little temperamental making it difficult to cook. However once you get the hang of it, it’s a minor inconvenience.

We are definitely coming to this house next year... it was the perfect house with perfect location .... it was like having our own on private beach . It was magical!

5 nights with 4 adult couples, stayed end of January 2021. House was very clean, Ruth and Carlos were great making sure everything was picked up and perfect! Very safe area, golf cart rental was a must. Groceries delivered before our arrival was a must! Beach is rocky, need shoes to walk along or swim!

Very clean, the amenities were exceptional. Due to the virus, we pretty much stayed in. But with the pool and ocean, we had a great, relaxing vacation. Just wish we could have used the elevator.

This home has everything you could possibly want. It is well maintained, beautifully decorated, and just perfect in so many ways. We were a group of 10 on our annual girls trip and we all loved this house! We finally found a home that met all our needs and we hope to return each year for more fabulous stays here.
