Description

As you enter the property from the private gated garden area to the rear, you are greeted with a open floor plan living, dining, and kitchen looking straight out to the beach and ocean via an entire wall of full length sliding glass doors. This room allows fantastic views of the Caribbean sea. The living room is comfortably furnished and features a large flat screen TV with Satellite and DVD, plus stereo. There is dining space for 8 people with ocean views, and a nice fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops.

Also on the ground floor, there is a guest bedroom furnished with 2 single beds and adjoining guest bathroom. There are sliding doors leading straight out from this bedroom onto the private terrace and beach beyond.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with king sized beds, plenty of closet space, nicely finished en suite bathrooms (ocean views from the shower!), and front and back terraces to give you both ocean and jungle views. There are sliding doors leading out to the ocean side terrace where you can relax on the cushioned seating and enjoy the view. This is also a lovely place to relax and watch the millions of stars in the Caribbean night sky.

In front of the villa is a shaded terrace, and a large private area of beach leading down towards the water. There are plenty of sun loungers, a shade palapa with sunken seating, and also a large outdoor dining table with seating for 8. Great for alfresco meals and beachfront cookouts!

To the rear of the villa, Serenity has ample off street parking, and also a brand new swimming pool (which is located through the door way on the lote next door) Guests of Villa Serenity have exclusive use of this swimming pool during their stay).

Villa Serenity is also conveniently located within a short walk from the Be Live Oasis all-inclusive resort and the Grand Bahia Principe resort where you can purchase day passes to use the resort facilities and entertainment. Bahia Principe Resort also has a shopping complex called Hacienda Dona Isabela which has gift shops, bar, and an ATM machine. Villa Serenity is also a short walk from the new Riviera Maya Golf Course. Riviera Maya Golf Club is the newest and most exciting golf course here in the Riviera Maya. Spanning 223 acres and set within 717 acres of tropical rainforest, this course was designed by Robert Trent Jones II.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Rita came every day and cleaned and made sure everything was in its place. The house always smelled so good when we would come back after enjoying our vacay out and about. She even cooked two meals for us that were very good! Eddie the grounds keeper was very attentive and so pleasant. He would help us out when we needed transportation to town. He does a nice job keeping the grounds maintained and raked the sand in front it the house every day. We were greatful that we stayed here and enjoyed walking the beach. The Beached Bikini was an added bonus a few doors down which is a fun bar and grill with great cocktails. We spent a day at the all inclusive resort Bahia Principe and a sunset cruise in Akumal. Thank you to our concierge David for being so attentive to our questions and helping us make decisions for the activities we wanted to take part of. All in all I give this place a 10/10 and we will be back! The sargasso seaweed was a drag but we didn’t let it wreck our trip! The pool is also a plus when we got hot and didn’t want to jump in the ocean. The neighbors next door were so kind and sweet.

Great house in a great location. Super private gated home with private security, daily cleaning, and on site maintenance. The house was big and spacious with amazing views of the private beach that leads you to the ocean. There is a pool onsite that was just for our use as well which made it that much more special. The house was fully stocked with everything you’d need. The location is about 20 to 30 minutes away from DT Playa del Carmen, or Tulum. If you’re looking for a lot to do I’d stay somewhere else, but if your looking to relax…this is the perfect place!

The house was fully equiped, very nicely upgraded and literally 100 steps from the back veranda to the ocean! The house/grounds/security staff were absolutely wonderful & a real luxury :) We loved the location - there's a big supermarket 15 minutes away by car and everything was easily accessible from the highway. Although Akumal was a little bit of a hike from the Cancun airport - once you're there, getting to Tulum or many of the cenotes were within a 1/2 hour drive.

Just got back from a fantastic time in Mexico. The villa was excellent, everything we wanted. The location was quiet which suited us and yet close enough to some busier areas when we wanted. The staff were fantastic and kept the property in tip top condition. We loved the beach and the pool often using the pool in the evenings and in our second week when a large amount of seaweed turned up! We also had the delight of watching turtles coming up onto our beach to lay their eggs, simply a magical experience. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special!

This home was perfect for us! Our days consisted of sleeping in, snorkeling in the morning and late afternoon right out the back of the home, sitting on what we felt our own private beach, walking the beautiful sand beach and making amazing dinners in the kitchen which was well stocked for what we needed. Rita and Ellie the maid and landscaper were amazing. Rita helped us with directions and the home was spotless. Ellie raked our beach and cut us a fresh coconut so we could try the coconut water. The bed was SUPER comfortable. The pool was clean and private. We lucked out on the weather, as September can be rainy, but we had sun daily. The beach was not crowded and we only had about 20 people pass by every day. We had 2 turtles lay their eggs right on our beach in the middle of the night. We had a guard every night we were there that was friendly and made us feel safe. The palapa was perfect for sleeping under and we enjoyed walking to the Bakini Beach Bar for cocktails and tacos. We rented a car from Cancun and used it several times to go to the store, go to town for lunch/dinner. Highly recommend La Buena Vida for lunch and La Luna for dinner. We visited a cenote in Tulum and rented a boat on the beach out front to go fishing one day. My husband cooked up an amazing dinner from our catch on the grill that same evening. We will return to this location/home again. We really did find peace and relaxation like no other vacation!

Wrapping up a glorious three weeks at this true oceanfront villa in Aventuras Akumal. 

The website pictures don't do the view justice - it is phenomenal, whether from the beach itself, the outdoor dining area, the indoor breakfast table, or the linked bedroom patio! 

And you really do have a little slice of private beach, with your own palapa, invaded only sporadically by envious passers by and, if you are fortunate, baby turtles hatching from their nest and heading to the sea (an unforgettable experience).

The villa is spacious - with two fabulous bedrooms upstairs and a serviceable one on the main floor. The three bathrooms are a nice luxury, particularly when coming in from the beach or the private swimming pool (a focal point for our stay). 

Kitchen has all the necessaries other than an oven, and there is a propane BBQ outside (although lighting it in the evening wind off the ocean can be a challenge!). Large refrigerator is a definite plus. 

Air conditioning in main room is a great plus - and in all 3 bedrooms too. So on the HOTTER days (and there were plenty), you can quickly cool off. 

Our only warning - the Internet is shockingly slow (we expected slow as it is satellite and a remote area, but less than 1 Mbps speed means essentially unworkable for anything other than email). There is a DVD player - but no DVDs, so bring some for the evenings if needed, although the satellite TV works fine (and has English and Spanish programming). 

Well-located for Akumal Town, and also less than 20 mins to Tulum and less than 30 mins to Playa del Carmen. All easy drives along the highway, once you master the retornos and the occasional lunatic driver! Plenty of places to eat out (see my various restaurant reviews) and also easy to get groceries and eat in -- tough to beat the view.

And, finally, the staff are SIMPLY AWESOME. Huge thanks to Rita, who looks after the inside, and Elly, who looks after the outside. Both are friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. And both brightened our days with smiles and greetings each morning. Felt like family by the end. 

Sadly, the place is booked for when we can next return to the area, but we will hope for a cancellation!

Casa Serenity was just perfect in every way. From the friendly staff to the perfect location on the bay, the home had every amenity we could have hoped for. The selection of outdoor areas was incredible! We could have coffee on the upstairs balcony, breakfast under the covered patio, afternoon sun by the pool with an escape from the heat on the adjoining covered patio, dinner on the slab stone built-in table in the backyard, and a romantic finish by moonlight under the built-in palapa at the edge of the shore! The beds were very comfortable, sliding doors were airtight and nearly soundproof, the kitchen amply equipped, and the bathrooms and built-in closet organizers (not to mention all the finish work) were top notch. The beach is an incredible powdery white sand that feels like you are walking on powdered sugar, the water is the amazing Caribbean turquoise that is made even more brilliant by the white sand entry that is nearly free of coral, and the dark blue contrast of the live reef just offshore for good snorkeling. The safety and security of the property with its gated entrance and parking area, and the overnight security guard (not that you need any of these) would reassure anyone not comfortable with the idea of travel in Mexico, but for those of us that have traveled to this area for many years know there is no safer place to be. We weren’t sure what to think of a bay that was bookended by resorts and being there at the peak of the US spring break, but we only saw a handful of people every hour walking by at the busiest time of the day! The name of the home really does say it all, and we cannot thank you enough for sharing this space with us. We hope to be back next year!

Fantastic vacation rental and well worth it. Nothing beats being able to step right outside the back porch right onto a groomed and clean beach front. Overall accommodations were great, Rita was consistent with cleaning and doing laundry (she even did the dishes)! Ramon, the night security guard sometimes scared us walking up to the house at night via the beach, but it was great knowing we were being looked out for. Ely was there to greet us when we arrived and made himself available for any needs, which we wound up not needing him considering the great care property amenities. The A/C was spot on and made a huge difference! Definitely recommend this place and the bikini bar just a few houses down the beach was very convenient.

We had a great time at this spot. Best stretch of beach and a quiet neighborhood. The pool was very nice and warm - kitchen was well stocked and beds were very comfortable. The staff did a wonderful job of keeping the house clean and helped with anything we needed. Great area to stay in - close to all the local attractions while being away from the craziness of the larger towns in the area. Our favorite day trips were Cenote Azul, Yal-ku Lagoon - just make sure you go the old entrance. We also had a great dinner at La Buena Vida and a good lunch at Lol-Ha Restaurant. We did do a day trip to the ruins in Tulum - the ruins were interesting and in a beautiful spot but be aware of the amount of haggling you will need to do to park and get tickets. Also if you want to do a day trip to Tulum to see the beach etc. we found that you need pay lots of $$$ to get a spot at one of the beach clubs to even see the water. The little bar/retaurant two doors down from the house - Bikini Bar is a great little spots for drinks. We would definite recommend this house and would stay here again.

The condo more than met my expectations! Everything worked- the fridge, water purifier, coffee machine, microwave, oven ! And best of all the AC- in all bedrooms and main area. Very nice caretaker Ellie and housekeeper Rita. There a few floats, fins and life jackets also. Bring your own snorkel and mask.
It is just steps to the beach. We didn’t use the pool in the back but it looked clean.
We used the purified water provided and were fine. I highly recommend getting groceries delivered from riviera Maya as the nearest store is 20 minutes away.

The villa was perfect. A new building fully equipped with all modern conveniences. Each bedroom had its own independent air conditioning as did the kitchen/dining/living room area. The sliding glass doors with the sliding screens made for a pleasant night's sleep. I turned my AC off, opened the curtains and glass doors, and closed the screen. The only noise outside was the gentle lapping of the waves on the beach just 20 meters away. There were 2 Green Sea Turtle nests on our beach, one just 2 meters off the patio. On the third night one of the nests hatched over 100 baby turtles. Some went straight to the sea but nearly 70 of them went the wrong direction towards the pool area lights in the area between our villa and the one next door. We gathered them up in a large plastic bowl and rushed them down to the sand near the breaking waves where they flipped and flopped the last few meters to the sea. The three resident staff were extremely efficient and friendly. The overnight security made us feel safe and the ability to park our rental car inside the secure gated backyard was also reassuring. Many thanks to Raymond, Ely, and Rita! Akumal is more or less halfway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen and is the perfect location to base your touring of Mayan ruins and Cenotes from. We spent one afternoon on a floating and snorkeling tour of an underground river cave system called Cenotes Sac Actún, It was only a short drive away and was spectacular. We highly recommend this property as your next beach vacation spot!

The house was in a good location....the staff was fabulous and took good care of us ❤️ the disappointment was the Sargassum on the beach but we tried not to let that interfere with swimming in the ocean.... The days that it was thick we had a great pool to swim in....this pool however was located in the back yard of the place next door. The people next door owned both properties and we had access to the use of it .The Bikini bar down the beach was great and the massage hut further down was excellent and would recommend the. The neighbour on the other side of property (left hand side looking at the water ) was not very friendly and quite rude to us....later in the afternoon we would follow the sun on the beach and she didn’t want us to lay in the sun in front of her property although we were very close to the water and not in her yard/ property but apparently she thought she owed the property all the way to the water ��‍♀️

It was an amazing vacation. Beautiful beach and home in a really quiet area. The pictures don’t really do justice to how beautiful it was to relax on the lounger in the shade as your stress blows away in the breeze.

We brought our own snorkelling gear so the family enjoyed snorkelling right in front of the home. The owners lived next door and were so kind and thoughtful. They had kayaks and adult life jackets out but the waves were a tad rough for the kids to use. That said, when they saw that we had little kids, brand new children’s life jackets magically appeared the next day.

The home also had a team that would maintain the grounds, provide overnight security watch and clean the home and rooms daily. They were so kind. We speak no Spanish so it was so sweet of them to be patient when we tried to chat.

We loved the quiet and peaceful location. We rented a car so it was really easy to get around. Public transport is not easily accessible without walking a ways away but if you have a rental car and enjoy peace and quiet this is your spot.

We had a fabulous time at Villa serenity everything that we could possibly need or want was there for us, including a security guard, Rita who took care of us daily, and even someone to clear the sand and take care of the outside. Ramon shared with us the hatching Tortugas each night! It was a fabulous trip and we will definitely do it. Again thank you to the owners for providing this opportunity for our family!

We love villa serenity! The villa is so clean. The owner updates it with new blackout curtains, lounge chairs, towels and kayaks! We’ve been coming to the same villa for 10 years and love it! We also love the house keeper and grounds keeper! We will be back again next year!

Todo resultó mucho mejor de lo que ya esperaba que fueran estos días hospedado en esta hermosa casa, con todas las necesidades y comodidades resueltas....
Las instalaciones y la funcionalidad de toda la casa son de un nivel muy elevado.... Comodidad y seguridad al máximo!!!!
El staff de Villa Serenity son personas maravillosas, amables y en todo momento nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos y como estar en familia!!!

Everything went perfectly with the house and property. It is a nice home, well kept and has many great features. The caretaker and housekeeper are both nice and they were very attentive. The guard service was also appreciated. The safe upstairs should be fixed and an oven would be nice. Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed staying at this property for the second time. The staff, Rita (Housekeeper), Eli (Maintenance and Landscaper) and Ramon (Security) were absolutely amazing. Thank you to Eli for assisting us when we lost our car rental keys!! We experienced some seaweed but other than that, the beach was amazing.

We stayed from 10/10-10/17. It was our first time in Mexico and after some goggle earth search we found the best/private beach in Akumal (and for sure the best house) In all our stay we had minimum Sargasso or nothing at all. There is an awesome bar/restaurant within a walking distant on the beach!(so convenient). if you don't want to move from this beautiful house, Rita can cook delicious authentic Mexican food(extra pay, so worth it) My sister was working everyday remotely and the WIFI was 100% perfect. Oh and also you have a parking spot (we had a rental)! We never used the pool because the weather condition were perfect! Cant Wait to go back!

Our stay at Villa Serenity was just that, very serene.
The location on the beach was great and the house itself was just the right size for us. However, a car is a must of some kind of transportation. There isn't anything to see or do nearby and the only choice of eating out is a quaint beach bar just down the beach which was very good. For us, we would have probably preferred to be in or near a village that offered activities and restaurants within walking distance. One more thing, the living room furniture does not lend itself to lounging. Very uncomfortable.
The staff were great and helpful.

We are a family of six and had the most amazing time at Villa Serenity. The house is set in pure paradise. The beachfront is the perfect setting to spend your days. It is a very private, laid back area which makes it very easy to decompress. The house was beautiful and Rita the lovely house keeper made our stay very enjoyable. Ely the groundskeeper always kept the pool clean, the beach raked and the grounds looking great. The house also has night time security which made us feel extra safe in a very safe area. Having our own pool was an added extra and was super fun. We used it a ton while we were there. Overall our experience was one to remember!

WE had a wonderful stay in Villa Serenity. The house has amazing views, the kitchen is very well provided, the staff is so kind and helpful, the beach is gorgeous and so quiet, the agency kept us informed and was very helpful. We couldn't ask for more and can not wait to return!

I would definitely book with Akumal Direct again. The concierge service before our arrival was superb. During our arrival, the service was a bit delayed. However, our home was just as it was described. Ramon, our security officer, was so helpful and cordial.
