        We had such a lovely time celebrating our wedding anniversary here in Akumal. The property is beautiful, private, and very peaceful. Bed was extremely comfortable, view of the ocean was beautiful, kitchen was well stocked and the concierge was very helpful in setting up additional activities for us

        Top 5 vacations of my life. Would live here full-time in a heart beat. I dont recommend the Blue Caribe tours offered through Akumal Direct. We went to Chichen Itza and while the tour guide and destinations were great, we were stuck on a huge tour bus with 60 other people for 10 hours of a 14 hour day. It was exhausting. Also, we recommend adding an additional 1 hour to your travel time back to Cancun Airport. There is roadwork that has been going on for about 1 year and delayed our drive time from 1.5 hour to 2.5+ hours. We almost missed our flight. The driver booked through Akumal Direct was the only reason we made it. We will 100% be back to stay in unit 5 again. AMAZING...

        Simply perfect place. Stunningly clean (daily maid maintenance), super-well equipped flat in a wonderful location. The beach is great and you can snorkel (there is equipment in the flat) at your own house reef in front of the flat. Or just enjoy the amazing view on the sea with turtles and sting rays from any room in the flat or from the balcony. This flat is a very good choice!

        This apartment affords stunning views, as the entire ocean side of the apartment, as well as sides of the balcony, are completely windows. The beach feels almost private, and the breezeway presents an enticing view of the sand and sea. It may be handy to have water shoes or neoprene socks, which protect one's feet from the sharp rocks when trying to pull on snorkeling flippers. There is a CD player, but only a couple of CDs, so consider bringing music. There are also picture puzzles and card games, in case you get sunburned, it is a rainy day and you have to stay inside. Also a bookshelf, with a lot of variety in reading material. I am actually scheming to find time to stay there again and bring friends, it was so nice, and sleeps four.

        So beautiful! The beach in front is perfect for enjoying the views and play in the sand. It's a bit further from the main beach but not terribly far. The beach is swimmable, but have to be wary of the coral out front. Our 3 year old son loved the beach and water, and with a life jacket could swim without stepping on the coral. Some lovely places to eat nearby, and would love to have spent more time in Akumal Pueblo! Cleaning staff was wonderful and did a great job. One bedroom is disconnected from the rest of the penthouse, meaning that we needed to go through the balcony to get to it, which was fine. It did make us wonder about locking the door and we got wet when it ended up raining, though, there is a small roof that covers the walk back to the main apartment. Our 3 year old steered clear of the balcony area since it wasn't very enclosed, just a bar, but with fair warning, he stayed back. A really wonderful stay!

        This is one of the most lovely spots on the HMB with the best view. The staff is hard-working and the property is maintained daily. It’s a low key beachfront luxury.

        This place is a paradise! We all loved it, especially the proximity to the sea - it’s right outside the door! Besides that, gorgeous views, private beach, great snorkeling (there was gear in the condo already), daily cleaning, privacy, and convenience. Kitchen is equipped with all the necessary devices, bedrooms and bathrooms are nice and clean and the common areas are perfect for a friends/family gathering. Bonus is the sound of gentle waves that puts one to sleep immediately. Don’t hesitate and book it!

        Absolute perfection, be careful, this place will steal your heart. We had an amazing week here and leaving was so hard. This condo felt like home the moment we entered. The views are breath taking and the sound of the waves can lull you to sleep in the middle of the day, so peaceful and relaxing.
        The balcony is spectacular. My son wanted a hammock to take home so we picked one up on the road to Coba. When we got back to the condo he hung it up on the patio .... perfection!

        The management team and staff were all so friendly and welcoming. We fell in love with this place and will return frequently.

        A special thank you to Marcia who was great about answering my many questions before arrival and arranging for us to check in early. This vacation was incredible, thank you Marcia for all your help.

        This private place was amazing! Just an amazing view, perfect breeze, and welcoming home to relax in. Fully equipped kitchen, the open split floor plan, the fantastic staff, snorkeling right off the back porch, just made this a whole in one!         The property is good, you may find all kind of kitchen appliances and all elements you may need to have a wonderful experience.

        It is almost a private beach given the amount of properties with access to the beach. Some of the tours are using now Half moon as the main facility for snorkeling (Akumal is now restricted due to Turtles reproduction process). All in all, manageable and not a negative element at all. Access to Cenote of Yak Kul is really close by and there are a few options for dining that are also good enough.

        The only negative element was the check-in process. We arrived late due to a delayed flight and the keys were not at the office. There was no security on duty and needed to call the manager who was so kind to come but we stayed there 1h waiting (and it was 11pm...). On the other hand on departure date they did not miss the chance to let us know 5 mins after 11am that we should be doing check-out. That's why is four not five stars.

        Overall, really good property and level of info given. We enjoyed a lot.

        This is a nice and roomy condo. The view is amazing. The outdoor patio is a wonderful place to sit and relax. The kitchen is very small but then we didn't cook much. There is a tv but only for DVD watching but that wasn't a big deal for us. Half moon bay beach is nice but rocky. It's not smooth and flat like Akumal Bay beach, but much less crowded.

        The unit was lovely and the view was breathtaking! Waking up to see the sea every morning, with an unobstructed view, is an understated luxury. 
        The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals at "home" and the staff could not have been more friendly, competent, and helpful. It is clear that the management company takes great pride in their property and the comfort of their guests.
        There was also exceptional snorkeling right off the beach ~ just beautiful!
        We plan to make this an annual vacation destination.

        Our stay was a very positive experience. We loved the bedroom configuration (both had their own bath) of being separated by the porch, which was large and we spent most of our time on it. The kitchen was well equipped and the overall decor was very nice. The view was the best ever, and we have been to Akumal 6 times. The only negative for us was that the furniture was small and for us uncomfortable (we are tall). The people who manage the condo are very efficient, helpful and friendly and addressed any situation that we had come. If you have to call them for anything, they show up right away.

        Our concierge David was so helpful and we had everything we needed.
        What a surprise to us that we had housekeeping, and we really appreciated that as well. Thank you to our groundskeeper Daniel, who opened up a coconut for our son (found on the property).

        Loved our stay at Yool Caanal. The view from the penthouse is amazing we watched the sunrise every morning from the bedroom. So peaceful very quite end of the beach. Basically the whole beach to yourself. We Were very lucky no sargassum issues. The condo building only has 5 units in it. Our unit was everything we needed. Great a/c in the bedrooms. The main living room area is not air conditioned but it wasn’t a problem for us. You are in Mexico you should expect it to be warm. We opened the window and got a breeze in the area.l and were
        Feel. The centre Terrace was heavenly both into the day and the stars at night. The unit has a older deco style with a Mexican vibe. thing maybe a bit older but everything so clean. No doubt in you mind things are freshly laundered. The housekeeping was nice to have. our bed made everyday and bathroom and kitchen freshen up. The location, space, and view are unbelievable for the price point. It truly is everything we wanted in a Mexican vacation. There are two great restaurants la Lunita nice night out restaurant and La Buena Vida very easygoing feet in the sand bar and restaurant in very close walking distance. Also a mini convenience store close by. Akumal beachside town is a easy 15-20 min walk. There is a small spa hare krishna spa a few condos down in the way I had a relaxing massage so peaceful. I would return to Yool Caanal in a heartbeat.

        We have stayed at Yool Caanal before and were excited about coming back.
        Part of our stay was in Unit 4, which was mostly very nice; very clean and comfortable and good Wi-Fi. The refrigerator made a very loud humming noise when the compressor was running. The microwave made a loud humming noise while running. Other than early in the morning or in the very late afternoon, the balcony patio was pretty much unusable because the sun shine made it unbearably hot. An awning or umbrella would be helpful.
        Unit 5 has great views, but the Wi-Fi was spotty at best and not good if one planned to do some work there. The living room could use its own air conditioner as it get quite warm in there during the day. Maid service was wonderful for both units.

        Loved our 12 day stay in Unit 5. Was magical to wake up with the wind blowing across the bed, the sound of the waves and the incredible view without lifting your head off the pillow. The wicker furniture in the living room was quite uncomfortable but other than that everything was perfect.

        My husband and I stayed at Yool Caanal Unit 5 12/25/21 - 1/1-22 and we had such a great experience. The location of this condo on Half Moon Bay is perfect if you are looking for something away from the more crowded Akumal beach area. We rented bicycles for the week which was a perfect way to get to the restaurants and shops in Akumal and Akumal Pueblo. The condo itself was beautiful and exactly as described. The folks at Akumal Direct were so very responsive and helpful with all the reservation details and even offered a discount due to some construction going on next door. Absolutely no complaints; would definitely stay here again (and again).

        We spent three nights here just after the New Year. We snorkeled every day, searched the tide pools just down the beach, and ate at La Lunita just down the beach for dinners. The views, waves, and breeze are perfect if you just want to get away for a while. Perfect for a family or even two couplea traveling together.

        Half Moon Bay is the only place to stay in Akumal. The top floor of Yool Caanal has a great view and plenty of room. Lots of piece and quiet.

        Was there for a week and couldn't have been happier. Enjoyed the place being right on the beach. Nice and quiet area, which is what we wanted. Only complaint my wife had was no AC in the living room/kitchen area. We had windows and doors open for a wonderful breeze to come blowing through.

        We loved the place for many reasons, but the view was probably the best part. We also really appreciated the thoughtful, professional management and cleaning staff. Finally, the booking agents at Akumal Direct were extremely friendly and helpful. Great, great, great!

        This has got to be one of my favorite locations. We absolutely loved the condo and the location. It was breathtaking each day to wake up to the view and very surreal and calming to hang out in the living room and watch the ocean and birds. We had a wonderful time snorkeling and got to see several turtles which are our favorites to see. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. We also realized one of the local restaurants just down the street serves breakfast and it was really easy to walk to. The bed to my surprise was very comfortable and I slept well listening to the ocean. Like I said before this has got to be a favorite of ours and we'll defiantly look at staying here again next year.

        We had a small problem w/ the key to the master being missing and not ever getting a copy to lock it while gone and the hot water and stove not being hooked up our first day. The issue about the hot water and stove was resolved very quickly.

        You couldnt ask for a better place to get away from the crowds of Playa/cancun. Waking to the sun coming up over the bay as the waves crash in, lazy days in the lagoon, white sand beach 20 feet from your door. Bliss! Akumal is for those who need some time to reflect, reconnect with those you care about and pretty much forget about the world.Highly recommended!

        We have stayed in a variety of Yool Caanal units and we have truly loved them all and this year we had the very unexpected chance to stay in Unit 5. Unit 5 is very well appointed and is now, by far our favourite and that says a lot considering how much we have enjoyed this condo complex. We were in Xcalak when we discovered that due to Covid 19 the Canadian Government was recommending all travellers return home as soon as possible. We decided that we better head north and get closer to the Cancun Airport. We called Marcia with Akumal Direct and she graciously welcomed us back by making sure we had what we needed. Her service was as always -- FANTASTIC. We had not booked through Akumal Direct in two years as we have been travelling further south and inland in the Yucatan, yet she immediately welcomed us back and treated us like old friends. It was comforting to be back in Akumal and renting from Akumal Direct on Half Moon Bay in this beautiful condo while we scrambled to find a way home.

        Just an amazing rental and I’d love to return. Great location, staff, and condo. They also did a great job removing the sea grass. The condo could have used a little TLC, but not a big deal. I would have also appreciated an AC in the main living room. But, I’d just go to a resort for a perfect room. I like it the way it is.

        Yool Caanal #5 is the most spectacular and perfect space to just let the world roll past you and enjoy the beautiful beach and lovely snorkeling all day long. Walk from here to a little grocery when you need a few items, or all the way into the main beach area (a lovely mile) for restaurants and shopping. It's our 5th time to here or the place that used to be next door. This corner of Half Moon Bay is pretty much the best in all of Riviera Maya! We'll, of course, be back!

        Liked this condo very much would come back again, some of the amenities needed a bit of updating(such as toaster oven,and shower) But for us it was fine. We enjoyed the privacy and location. Weve stayed in many places from Puerto Morelos-Mahahual and it worked for us! Short walk to the Lagoon, go early before tour vans.
