Perfect Accommodation for a Large Group

When Patricia M. and her "Framily" (a blend of close friends and family) from Gilmer, TX decided to escape to Akumal for the Fourth of July, they couldn't have anticipated the adventure awaiting them. Their stay at Casa Salvaje from June 29 to July 6, 2024, became an experience filled with breathtaking views, unexpected challenges, and remarkable hospitality.

Casa Salvaje, with its seven spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, provided the perfect retreat for their group of 15. Each family found comfort and privacy when needed, while the common areas accommodated everyone for shared meals, lively board games, and movie nights. The pristine waters and stunning views added to the charm of this exquisite property.

Facing Hurricane Beryl

However, their stay coincided with the arrival of Hurricane Beryl, transforming their relaxing vacation into a test of resilience and community spirit. The hosts at Casa Salvaje rose to the occasion, keeping Patricia and her group informed of their options and assisting them throughout the ordeal. When their flights were canceled due to the hurricane, the hosts generously extended their stay until it was safe to travel.

Unique and Memorable Activities

Despite the stormy weather, the group found joy in unique activities. They watched turtles lay eggs at night, swam with the turtles, and visited the turtle sanctuary. Witnessing baby turtles making their way to the sea just as the hurricane approached was a surreal and memorable experience. Their visit to the Mayan ruins of Coba-Ha, guided by a knowledgeable local, added a cultural dimension to their trip, making up for the missed excursions to Xel-Ha and the Cenotes.

Outstanding Support from the Staff

A standout aspect of their stay was the unwavering support from Margarite, a sweet and helpful lady who lived in an apartment at the front of the property. From helping them secure food supplies to managing the generator during power outages, Margarite's assistance was invaluable. The collaborative efforts of the staff, the electric company, and the local community ensured that the group's experience remained positive despite the hurricane's challenges.

Highly Recommended and Future Plans

Patricia and her Framily were deeply impressed by the care and attention they received at Casa Salvaje. The property’s beauty, coupled with the exceptional hospitality, turned a potentially disastrous situation into an unforgettable adventure. They highly recommend Casa Salvaje to anyone seeking a remarkable vacation rental in Akumal and plan to return, making it a frequent destination for future getaways.
